Masked Bandit Takes Smokes from Tolland Store

State police are looking for a masked bandit who held up a Tolland store.

TOLLAND, CT — State police said they are looking for a masked bandit who stole money and cigarettes from a Tolland store.

The incident took place Sunday at 8:18 p.m. at the XTra Mart on Hartford Turnpike (Route 30), state police said.

When the clerk was at the back of the store, someone wearing a bandana as a face covering and holding a knife entered the store, stole cash from the register and smokes from a display and ran out of the store, state police said.

The thief was last seen running from the store in a westerly direction, state police said. Video surveillance footage shows the bandit to be wearing dark pants and a black hoodie with glove and sunglasses.

State police distributed a grainy surveillance image of the thief.
