Open Burning Ban Lifted In Tolland
Tolland residents are allowed to responsibly enjoy outdoor fires once again.

TOLLAND, CT β The open burning ban in Tolland has been lifted.
Here is the official announcement from the Tolland Fire Department:
Tolland Fire is pleased to announce that the recent rain has allowed for the fire danger to remain low. The statewide burn ban and state of emergency was also officially lifted yesterday by Department of Energy & Environmental Protection (DEEP).

Therefore, effective immediately, Tolland residents are allowed to responsibly enjoy outdoor fires once again. This includes issuing, and the continuation of, burn permits for the burning of brush. The decision comes following updates from state officials and fire weather forecasts.
If you do have an outdoor fire, we ask everyone to continue practicing fire safety best practices by following the following guidance:

β’ Always have water or a fire extinguisher nearby.
β’ Never leave a fire unattended, and if you do leave it unattended, fully extinguish the fire before leaving.
β’ Follow local burning policies for safety and for permits.
β’ Dispose of ashes safely by cooling and placing in a non combustible container with a lid that seals. Keep away from flammable combustibles.
β’ Avoid creating sparks near dry vegetation or combustibles.
