Pair Charged With Racing Over 100 MPH on I-84
The two young men are scheduled to appear in court on Nov. 9.

State police arrested two young men after clocking them at 109 miles an hour while they raced on Interstate 84 Saturday afternoon.
Jikang Sun, 19, of Tolland and Yiming Lu, 21, of Mansfield were each charged with reckless driving and illegal racing on a highway. They were released after each posted $500 bond, and they are scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Nov. 9.
According to a police report, two vehicles, a red Audi S4 and a black Maserati Grand Turismo, were racing on the eastbound side of the highway around 4:40 p.m., prompting a 911 call to state police stating they were weaving in and out of traffic at a high rate of speed.

A state trooper positioned himself at exit 73 in Union and, utilizing LIDAR, captured the speed of the vehicles at 109 MPH. Both cars were pulled over, and the drivers admitted they had been racing each other, the police report says.
