Pedestrian, Car Collide In Tolland Wednesday

TOLLAND, CT — One person was airlifted to an area hospital after a truck and pedestrian collided in Tolland Wednesday.

The crash took place just after 9 a.m. on Kozley Road, fire officials said. LifeStar helicopter landed in the area of Bald Hill and Kozley roads, fire officials said.

Kozley Road was shut down in the area of Midland Drive state police investigated the crash.

State police said a Mitsubishi utility truck was traveling westbound on Kozley Road. The pedestrian, a 50-year-old Tolland woman, was walking westbound, on the eastbound side of the road, in the area of 112 Kozley Road, state police said.

The truck crossed the double yellow center line and struck the woman, several mailboxes, and a wooden post. The truck driver, a 22-year-old Windsor Locks man, was not injured, state police said.
