TOLLAND, CT — The latest installment of the Picture Tolland series takes us back to the nation's bicentennial year.

Pictured is Tolland Fireman Jim Morey sitting in the Forestry 340 vehicle in the bays of Station 240 in 1976. Forestry 340 was a 1952 Willys Jeep that had been converted into a brush vehicle that year.

Morey and Tolland firefighters Bob Bilodeau, Mark Cropper, and Mike Romanick added roll bars, a water tank, garden hoses, a pump, and other equipment to the Jeep.
