TOLLAND, CT — The latest installment of the Picture Tolland series takes us back to a favorite of the late and celebrated former town historian Barbara Cook — the old Crandall Cider Mill well before the modern-day Crandall's Park.

The structure was originally a saw mill, grist mill and cider mill and the cider mill still operated in the 1940s, according to Cook's notes.

It was opened for swimming by Miss Lillie Crandall.
