Picture Tolland: The Truck Melted, But What About The Ice Cream?

TOLLAND, CT — Seventeen years ago this week, ice cream lovers cringed when a Ben & Jerry's truck caught on fire in Tolland.

The incident was at Dari Farms inside the industrial park on Jan. 28, 2006 and was captured by the Tolland Fire Department's Jen Simmons.

Tolland firefighters made quick work of the blaze, but the truck's cab melted in the heat. There was no word whether there was any ice cream aboard.
