TOLLAND, CT — The latest installment of the Picture Tolland series takes us to the fire department and a comeback of sorts to its Way Back Wednesday postings.

Pictured is a 1952 Jeep that was obtained from the federal surplus program in 1976, fire officials said. It was used as a a brush truck after being fashioned by Jim Morey, Mike Romanick, Bob Bilodeau and Mark Cropper.

The Jeep was called Forestry 340 and served the town from 1976 until 1984, operating out the Gehring Road firehouse (Station 340).
