Propane Leak Prompts Evacuations At Apartment Complex In Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — Firefighters and Connecticut State Police Thursday afternoon responded to an active propane leak at the Ivy Woods Apartments on Buff Cap Road, according to the town officials.

The leak was reported at 86 Buff Cap Road, where multiple affected apartments were evacuated.

The Tolland Fire Department and state police were securing the area while crews work to address the leak. Officials said the necessary evacuations were been completed and the scene is "secure."

Residents and others were being asked to avoid the area while firefighters and police work at the scene. Officials said there would be a large police and fire department presence in the area through the afternoon hours.
