Recent Death Notices From Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — Here are the most recent death notices with Tolland connections.

Christy Rose Healy, 36, died Aug. 25. She was a Tolland resident, formerly of Bethel, and was born in Danbury.

John Cole Gallic, 67, died Aug. 20. He moved to Tolland with his family at age 8 and lived there more than 50 years. Gallic worked in finance at Barings, formerly a division of MassMutual, for more than 20 years, serving as director of global marketing services. He coached youth football, baseball and basketball in Tolland for many years.

Douglas A. Durdan, 68, died Aug. 15. He was a lifelong Tolland resident and a 1976 graduate of Tolland High School. Durdan spent his career in the insurance industry, holding marketing and international benefits roles at companies including Travelers and Aetna. He is survived by his wife, Debra (Magnuson) Durdan, and their two children.

Ellise Marie Kenyon Sullivan, 79, died July 31. She and her husband, Ralph C. Sullivan, raised their family in Tolland, where she lived the rest of her life. Sullivan worked as a registered nurse at Rockville General Hospital for her entire career. She is survived by her daughter, Laura Sullivan Hart, and her son, Skyler Brian Sullivan.

Nicholas C. Dooley, 25, died July 30 of injuries sustained in a motor vehicle accident. He was a graduate of Tolland High School and was studying aircraft repair and maintenance at Connecticut Aero Tech in East Hartford. Dooley is survived by his mother and stepfather, Lisa and Mark Taylor, his father, Charles Dooley, and his sister, Kaylie Taylor. Source:

Madeline (Tolisano) Aieta, 100, died July 15. Born in Hartford, she worked at Connecticut General, later CIGNA, for 35 years. She is survived by her children, Philip F. Aieta Jr. and Lucille Furey, twelve grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.
