Record Amount Given to Tolland Public Library

The Tolland Public Library Foundation has given more than $25,000 to the library this year.

was given a record amount of more than $25,000 by the Tolland Public Library Foundation, according to a press release sent to Tolland Patch. The funds have helped bring more young people into the library through the "Year of the Young Adult" initiative.

The grants have allowed the library to install a state-of-the-art media center to be used by the library and civic groups. The library now can host award-winning authors and hold informative sessions on college admissions.

The library and Foundation are focusing on the "Year of the Young Adult" initiative this year. The program aims to bring more programs and materials to the library of interest to children ages 11 to 18.
