Record Number of Donations Collected at Tolland Memorial Day Parade
The money will go towards helping the veterans who live in the state home in Rocky Hill.

During this year’s Memorial Day parade and service, volunteers with the Tolland Permanent Celebration Committee collected a record $963.32.
The money will go towards helping the veterans who live in the state home in Rocky Hill.
The committee members, and its president Celeste Senechal, would like to thank Tolland residents and the parade goers for their generosity. The amount raised on May 24 far surpasses the amount that was collected in each of the past four years.

The funds have been sent to the VFW State Auxiliary, which uses donations from Tolland residents each year to purchase socks, razors, towels, and other personal items for needy veterans in the state home.
The committee also thanks volunteers Michelle Meares, Annalee Hughes, Paige Dodd, Tia Meares, and Haley Zmijewski for collecting the donations, and the Tolland High School VISION Club for providing volunteers on May 24.
