Report Released On I-84 Fatal Tractor-Trailer-DOT Truck Crash
State police have released a report on Thursday's fatal crash involving a tractor-trailer and state DOT truck in a highway work zone.

UNION, CT — State police on Friday identified the truck driver killed in a collision with a state Department of Transportation vehicle as a 46-year-old New Hampshire man.
The crash took place at 1:45 p.m. on the westbound side of Interstate-84, just west of Exit 72 in Union, according to a report released Friday.
A tractor-trailer owned by Kehe Enterprises of Elkton, FL, was approaching a marked work zone in the left lane and shoulder, according to a report. A state DOT dump truck, also marked for construction, was parked parked in the work zone and the tractor-trailer, hit it from behind. Both vehicles swerved to the left after the impact and hit a metal guardrail in he center median, according to a report.

State police said the truck jacknifed.
The driver the tractor-trailer, Eric Problenz, of Manchester, NH, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to a report.

The 44-year-old driver of the DOT truck escaped with what state police described as minor injuries and was taken to Hartford Hospital.
The westbound side of the highway was closed until about 8 p.m., state police said. The left-hand lane on the eastbound side was closed for some time because of leaking diesel fuel, according to state police.
