Snowstorm Leaves Trail of Downed Wires in Tolland

Crews were scrambling to open roads in Tolland on Thursday.

TOLLAND, CT — Wednesday's snowstorm left behind a trail of downed wires, emergency management officials said.

Six roads still had wires on them into lunchtime on Thursday. Crews were working to clear them as soon as possible, officials said.

  • On Weigold Road, a wire was in the road, which remained closed early Thursday afternoon.

  • On the Route 32 side of Plains Road, a power line was arcing late Thursday morning, but traffic could pass by.
  • One lane was open on Grandview Street because of a low-hanging wire, but the road was passable early Thursday afternoon with one lane open.
  • Slater Road had a low-hanging wire, but the road was road passable early Thursday afternoon.
  • Partridge Lane was passable with one lane because of a low-hanging wire at about 1:30 p.m.
  • Robbie Road was down to one lane because of a low hanging wire at about 1:20 p.m.
