State Police Nab 50 Bags of Heroin After I-84 Crash

TOLLAND, CT — State police this week confiscated 50 bags of heroin after a speeder in a stolen car crashed on the highway.

The incident took place Monday at 9:25 p.m. on the eastbound lanes of Interstate-84 near Exit 69, state police said.

The speeding car crashed into the center median and the driver was transported to an area hospital, state police said.

The car was determined to be stolen out of Hartford and then the heroin was located, according to a report.

Criminal charges are pending after the driver recovers from injuries, state police said.
