State Police Nab Tolland Driver for Exceeding 100 MPH on I-84 in Vernon

His Audi was snagged by a Charger, state police said.

VERNON, CT — State police caught a Tolland man exceeding 100 mph on Interstate-84 on Monday.

On Monday at 10:25 p.m. troopers from Troop C were conducting motor vehicle enforcement on I-84 eastbound in Vernon when they observed a vehicle traveling at a high rate of speed passing Exit 66, according to an arrest report.

Using speed detection equipment troopers captured the speed of an Audi A4 traveling 136 mph in a 65 mph zone, according to an arrest report.

Troopers conducted a motor vehicle stop and took the operator, Jeremy Clayton, 43, of Tolland into custody for reckless driving, according to an arrest report.

Clayton was later released on $500 bond pending his court date — Oct. 25 in Rockville.
