State Police Slate Weekend Spot Check For Tolland

State police will be conducting a drunken driving spot check on the most direct route to UConn.

TOLLAND, CT — The Tolland Resident State Trooper's Office, in conjunction with the state police Troop C barracks, will be conducting a drunken driving spot check on Rt. 195 in Tolland this weekend.

The checkpoint is slated to begin during the evening hours on Saturday and run through the early morning hours on Sunday.

State Police said they are, "committed to keeping the roads safe and reducing traffic
collisions through preventive enforcement initiatives such as spot checks. The motoring public is asked to please drive safely and be sure to use seat belts."

Route 195 is the most direct route from Interstate-84 to the University of Connecticut campus, about 7 miles away.
