State Police Still Investigating Shenipsit Lake Untimely Death

A man's was found dead Wednesday at Shenipsit Lake and troopers are asking the public to help identify him.

TOLLAND, CT — State police on Friday morning were still considering the case of a man found dead on the Tolland side of Shenipsit Lake an active investigation.

And they re-released a description of the man in case a member of the public recognizes it.

The man was found at 7:23 p.m. Wednesday, state police said. He is being described by state police as a white male, 5-foot-10 and 175 pounds, with blue eyes and brown hair. The man is clean shaven and had no identifying markings, state police said. He appears to be about 50 years old, state police said.

Anyone knowing anyone who might be missing and fitting the description can call the state police Troop C barracks at 860-896-3200.

The lake borders parts of Tolland, Vernon and Ellington and is a major source of drinking water for towns served by the Connecticut Water Co. There is road access to the lake.
