State Tournament Play to Open for Tolland

TOLLAND, CT — Cross country is over, swimming brackets will be announced later this week and football still has three games to go, but four other sports begin their state tournaments over the next three days, with three involving teams from Tolland High School.

Listed in order of better seeds, here is the upcoming tournament schedule for Eagle teams:

• girls soccer (L): No. 29 Foran at No. 4 Tolland, Tues., 11/7, 4 p.m.
• girls volleyball (M): No. 17 Tolland at No. 16 Prince Tech, Mon., 11/6, 6 p.m.
• boys soccer (M): No. 19 Tolland at No. 14 Valley Regional, Mon., 11/6, 4 p.m.

Here are the records for those teams in state championship game history:

• girls soccer: 3-1 (last title, 1985)
• girls volleyball: no appearances
• boys soccer: 2-1 (last title, 2015)
