Suspected Drunken Driver Slams into State Police Cruiser on Route 32
State police released a photo of the badly damaged cruiser.
WILLINGTON, CT — A local man is accused of slamming his vehicle into a state police cruiser after consuming alcohol, state police said.
The incident took place on Sunday at 3:55 p.m. on state Route 32 near Ademec Road, state police said.
Edward Lukas, 60, of 86 River Road, Willington was charged with driving under the influence, traveling unreasonably fast for conditions, an insurance violation and a lane violation, according to state police.

He was traveling on Route 32 on Sunday when his car crossed the yellow center lines and hit an oncoming cruiser, state police said. Pictures released by state police show heavy damage to the cruiser. No injuries were reported.
He smelled of alcohol, admitted to drinking hours before the crash and failed a sobriety test, state police said.
