Teenager Charged With Setting Tolland Gas Station Fire

Police viewed surveillance tapes and identified a 13-year-old boy as the arsonist.

TOLLAND, CT - A 13-year-old male has been arrested in connection with a Sunday afternoon fire at a Route 195 gas station, according to a state police report.

The youth, whose name has not been released due to his age, was charged with third-degree arson, risk of injury to a child, third-degree criminal mischief, second-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree breach of peace.

Around 12:30 p.m., state police responded to a fire call at the Mobil gas station at 56 Merrow Road, and determined arson was the cause of the fire. Police viewed surveillance tapes and identified the boy.

The youth is scheduled to appear in Rockville Juvenile Court March 15.
