Texting Blamed For Car Hitting Tree In Tolland
A car slammed into a tree in Tolland late last week.

TOLLAND, CT — The driver of a 2006 Honda Accord told state police she was texting before the car hit a tree head-on in Tolland late Friday night, according to a crash report.
The car was headed north on Mountain Spring Road at 11:21 p.m. when the driver, a 19-year-old from Tolland, lost control and drove off the pavement, according to a crash report.

The driver was taken to Rockville General Hospital with suspected minor injuries, according to a crash report. She was then cited for driving while using a hand-held electronic device and failure to drive right, state police said.
