Tolland Begins Basketball Court Refurbishing At Pair Of Parks

TOLLAND, CT — Refurbishing projects have officially begun on two outdoor basketball courts in Tolland, with work underway at Crandall Park and Heron Cove Park, according to an announcement from the town.
The town said both projects are currently estimated to be completed in June, weather and construction schedules permitting.
As part of the work, the town said it is also adding ADA access to both courts. The project affects existing basketball court areas at both parks, which are now closed to the public until construction is complete.

The closure notice included several safety reminders for residents while work continues. The town said, “The basketball court areas at both parks are closed to the public until construction is complete.” It also said, “Please do not enter construction zones. These areas may contain heavy equipment, machinery, and other hazards.”
The town directed a separate reminder to families using the parks during the project. In the notice, the town said, “Parents and guardians are asked to ensure children remain clear of work areas at all times.”

The work is part of an effort to improve park facilities in town. The announcement states that Tolland is moving ahead with the court refurbishing while also expanding accessibility at the sites through the ADA access improvements.
