Tolland Budget Fails By 26 Votes In 3rd Referendum
Tolland's 2024-25 budget proposal failed again Tuesday.

TOLLAND, CT — The third time was not a charm for Tolland's $64.3 million budget proposal for the 2024-25 fiscal year.
It was oh so close Tuesday, but the 1,115 no votes edged the yes votes totaling 1,089, therefore rejecting the proposed spending plan for the third time.
The turnout was 2,204, or 21.24 percent of eligible voters.

The turnout on May 7 was 18.03 percent and on May 21, it was 19.58 percent.
The third edition of the 2024-2025 budget proposal totaled $64,310,940. That represented an increase of $2,759,583, or 4.48 percent, over the current year. That bottom line would have required an estimated tax rate of 38.32 mills, an increase of .99 mills or 2.65 percent.
