CCB's show highlights classical and contemporary dance technique, including classical ballet, contemporary ballet, modern dance and jazz.
10 dancers from Tolland will be performing with Connecticut Concert Ballet in the company’s spring production Dynamic Directions this Saturday, May 16 and Sunday, May 17.
CCB’s production presents eclectic repertory and premiere works that highlight classical and contemporary dance technique, including classical ballet, contemporary ballet, modern dance and jazz. Choreographers for this show are Wendy Fish-Lawrence, David Lawrence, Lorelei Chang and Christina Shortt.
Two Tolland residents, Serena Lotreck and Grace Mazzarella will be dancing in lead roles. Both dancers are high school seniors, Grace at East Catholic High School and Serena at Tolland High School, and both have been dancing most of their lives. As CCB has noted every year, its best dancers are also high achievers academically and in community involvement. Serena will be attending Cornell University and Grace will be attending Williams College in the fall.
