Tolland Delinquent Dog Licenses Topping 300

TOLLAND, CT — Tolland officials Thursday said there are almost as many delinquent dog licenses in town as there are days in a year.

The town has licensed 1,884 dogs for the current 2020/2021 license year, according to a report. That leaves 364 dogs unlicensed, officials said.

Delinquent notices will be mailed on Sept. 1 after which the list of outstanding licenses will be sent to the Animal Control Officer.

License cost before Sept. 1 are $8 for a spayed or neutered dog and $19 for an unaltered dog.

Fees for payments received on or after Sept. 1 are $10 for an altered dog and $21 .for an unaltered dog.

The fine for having an unlicensed dog is $75.00.
