Tolland Eagle Scout Project Aims To Repair Crandall Gazebo

A Tolland Scout by the name of Sam Peck is raising money (Go Fund Me) for his Eagle Project (through the Town of Tolland Veterans Recognition Commission) that will begin in May of 2023. His Eagle Project will focus on repairing the Gazebo that is located on Cider Mill Road at Crandall Park and is near the Lion's Baseball Field. The goal of the project is to repair the Gazebo that overlooks Crandall Pond. This project is to be a reflective and pleasant area where members of the town, and specifically veterans, can gather and reflect. The tasks that will be completed to fulfill this goal are:

  • Replacing the deteriorated and rotten cedar roof with a new cedar roof.
  • Removing graffiti from the gazebo.
  • Sanding and staining the gazebo.
  • Removing and replacing plantings around the gazebo.

Donations will go towards paying for the cedar shakes, roofing nails, sandpaper and staining supplies. All proceeds that are received from donations that are not spent on the project, will be donated to the Tolland Veterans Recognition Commission to go towards their plans to expand the Tolland Green Monument Project.
