No
Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?
Yes, I currently serve on the Town Council and served on the Board of Education for five years, three of which were as a Chair and Vice Chair.
Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?
All of our municipal departments as well as the Tolland Public Schools hold a great deal of importance for me as well as representing the entire community. It is my intention to make decisions during a Town Council meeting that are in the best interests of the people. As a former member of the Board of Education and a current member of the Tolland Town Council, I have an in-depth understanding of the concerns and projects facing our community.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is \_\_\_, and this is what I intend to do about it.
There is always a concern among taxpayers about how much taxes are rising; we need to find ways to attract businesses in order to ease this burden. Several areas of Tolland are also experiencing water issues, and although the current Town Council has taken steps to assist residents, we need further action.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
Among the significant differences is that I am one of two incumbents seeking re-election. Throughout the next two years, I will share my experience and expertise with the new councilors regarding pressing issues and projects.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
As a community, Tolland should strive to maintain safety, stability, and sustainability
Our town is undergoing several projects, but I am particularly interested in the work of our Public Safety Department. As well as seeing the progress on firehouse 340’s renovation, I’m looking forward to seeing the future restoration of firehouses 440 and 140.
I think it is equally important for every resident in our town to have equal access to our fields, parks, and greens, and I strongly believe in the significance of ADA.
Promoting Ordinance 60 to provide tax relief to seniors and people with disabilities
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Collaboration and maintaining strong bipartisan relationships are two of my greatest strengths. As a current councilor, I served as chair of the ARPA (American Rescue Plan Act) subcommittee, which presented recommendations to the town council that resulted in capital savings of over a million dollars, as well as the 50% discount of recreational programs and investments in ADA projects.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Work hard. Stay humble.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I am a huge Boston Bruins fan. Volunteering in the community is my biggest passion. Helping others and trying to make a difference gives me a sense of community.
