Have you ever held a public office, whether appointive or elective?

I’ve served on the Tolland Board of Education since 2019, and have been Secretary of the Board since 2021. Before that, I served on the Water Pollution Control Authority from 2018 to 2019.

Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?

I am running because I love my town and want to ensure that it remains a wonderful place for years to come. I am focused on carefully reviewing town expenses, both operating and capital, and public safety.

Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is \_\_\_, and this is what I intend to do about it.

Higher costs

What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?

I bring a wealth of experience to town government that not many of my opponents have. I am also focused on carefully reviewing expenses to find efficiencies so we can run a taxpayer-centric government.

If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?

N/A

What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?

I am committed to public safety. Given the recent street takeover and car break-ins, we need to give this topic renewed emphasis and thought and work closely with our local law enforcement agencies to find solutions to these problems.

What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?

During my time on the Board of Education I’ve consistently found savings in the operating budget every year, especially through the lean years of the pandemic. I’ve also learned how to set priorities and act on them in my leadership roles on the Board as Secretary and Chair of the Curriculum committee.

What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?

That’s a tough question, but a good piece of advice I’ve heard is be clear on what your priorities are. Don’t overload yourself with ideas, pick 3 or 4 goals that are most important and give them 100% until they are accomplished. I want to take that attitude to the Council.

Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?

I’m a lifelong resident of town, THS graduate and a UConn graduate. I love my community and it would be an honor to serve on its Town Council! Please consider supporting me and voting for the entire Republican Town Council slate!
