Now we'd like to ask a few questions about your reasons for running and your general views on politics and government. First, why are you seeking this office?
I am running for office to better support the students, parents, teachers, and teachers aids in our town.
Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is \_\_\_, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Improving the academic performance of each student while fostering a positive relationship between both the parents or guardians and the students. I intend to work hard to meet with all parties involved in order to make improvements for everyone in our town. Even those who don't have children, I want to work hard on the budget to pair down how much taxes are paid by each one of us.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidates seeking this post?
One of the biggest differences between me and other candidates seeking this post is that I have a child who has been a part of the special education services in the Tolland School Systems since 2014. I am also a long-time resident of Tolland who graduated from Tolland schools in 1997.
If you are challenging an incumbent, in what way has the current officeholder failed the community?
The exorbitant tax increases over the last several years and the lack of control by the Board of Education. In order to keep that standing on track is unacceptable.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
I intend to address the budget increases, the academic issues that need to be changed, and the transparency that needs to be implemented with parents/guardians the administration, and educators.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
As an adult student of the Purdue University Global Bachelor of Health Information Services program, as well as a mom of a student who has been a part of the special education program of Tolland since beginning school in preschool 3 in 2014, as well as being a graduate from Tolland High School myself in 1997
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
When people show you who they are, believe them.
Is there anything else you would like voters to know about yourself and your positions?
I'm a member of Blessed Sacrament Parish, I bring communion to the sick members of the community.
