Tolland Fire Chief Issues Update On Station 340
A old fire station is being decommissioned in Tolland in favor of a new one.

TOLLAND, CT — Tolland Public Safety Director and Fire Chief John Littell Thursday sent the following message to residents about the decommissioning of Fire Station 340:
"Tolland Public Safety would like to inform residents that the Town is in their final stages of moving forward with the rebuilding of Fire Station 340, located at 247 Gehring Road. Earlier in the week the contractor moved in equipment and began the installation of silt fencing to prepare for the demolition of the building.
"Beginning today, January 26, 2023, all fire apparatus will be removed and the building will be turned over to the contractor. In the coming months there will be construction activity at this location.
"This project has been a thoroughly planned process and will not have any impact on our town’s public safety. We are fortunate to be starting this project ahead of schedule and look forward to the completion of Station 340. We thank everyone for their support as we move to the next steps of improvements for our community."
