Tolland Fire Department Call Numbers Steadily Increasing

TOLLAND, CT — The Tolland Fire Department response numbers went up by more than a hundred from 2021 to 2022.

The year-end results were released Monday.

For all of 2022, the TFD responded to 2,485 calls for service, or 131 more calls than the previous year.

"When we look back on the past five years, we've had a significant increase in call volume that continues to grow," fire officials said.

Fire officials said the total number of calls for 2021 and 2020 were 2,354 and 1,972, respectively.

For December 2022 alone, calls were up by 65 from the same point in 2021. Here is a the breakdown for December:

• Fire: 28
• Medical: 150
• Haz-Mat: 26
• Motor Vehicle Incidents: 18
• Service Calls: 69
• I-84 Calls: 10

The TFD also had 27 mutual aid calls in December.
