Tolland Firefighters Respond To 2 Crashes 12 Hours Apart In Same Spot

It was a busy 12 hours for Tolland firefighters Wednesday into Thursday.

TOLLAND, CT β€” About 12 hours after a car wound up underneath a tractor-trailer, Tolland responders encountered another crash in just abut the same spot.

This time β€” at about 9 a.m. Thursday, a car dropped its muffler on the westbound side of Interstate 84, right at the Mountain Spring overpass.

The compact car seemed to have spun out. No injuries were reported.

At 9 p.m. Wednesday, a white sedan became entangled with a tractor-trailer and the car's front end became lodged under the truck between exit 68 and the underpass on the same side of the highway.

One person was taken to Hartford Hospital with undisclosed injuries.
