For Tolland Firefighters, Water Sources Go Beyond Hydrants

TOLLAND, CT — Tolland firefighters often use an alternate method of finding a water source than the traditional fire hydrant.

Fire officials recently pointed out in a social media post that a very large portion of Tolland is not serviced by fire hydrants.

What do firefighters do instead?

They use tapping sources that are positioned in several areas around Tolland. They can then draw from bodies of water like ponds and lakes.
