TOLLAND, CT — A project to resurface a section of state Route 195 in Tolland began Thursday — a few days early.

In a message from town officials, the move seemed to add a little angst to some at town hall.

"The milling and resurfacing of Route 195 began today. The Town was not notified of the change of schedule," town officials said. "We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your cooperation."

The Connecticut Department of Transportation announced earlier this year that it would be milling and resurfacing Route 195 from Route 32 in Mansfield to Old Post Road in Tolland. The summer schedule coincided with the University of Connecticut being off for the summer.
