TOLLAND, CT — The Tolland Greater Together Community Fund Advisory Committee is accepting grant applications from nonprofit organizations "working to improve the local community."

Grant awards will range from $250 to $15,000, up to a total of $30,000 for the grant cycle.

Priority in grant funding will be given to applications that support the following:

  • The expansion of transportation services to seniors and disabled residents
  • Creative initiatives that involve high school age students.

Since 2021, the Advisory Committee has awarded seven grants to local organizations. The Tolland Greater Together Community Fund aims to:

  • Support the community needs of Tolland residents.
  • Encourage broad and inclusive civic engagement.
  • Maintain a relationship between the Hartford Foundation and Tolland.

The applicant's work must serve residents of Tolland, although they may serve others as well. Applicants must be a nonprofit 501(c)3 charity and be able to provide documentation. Tolland individuals or groups of citizens may also submit an application in partnership with a registered nonprofit organization that has agreed to serve as the fiscal agent for the proposed project.

The advisory committee will begin accepting applications Aug 15 through Nov 1. Decisions will be made by mid-December and grant awards distributed by mid-January. Information and application can be found at www.hfpg.org/
