Tolland Has Indoor Track Champions, Placewinners at State Meet

The CIAC indoor track and field championships were conducted Thursday through Saturday at the Floyd Little Athletic Center in New Haven.

NEW HAVEN, CT — Winning one event and placing in the top six in seven others, both the boys and girls teams from Tolland High School placed seventh at the CIAC Class M indoor track and field championships at the Floyd Little Athletic Center.

The girls 1600 sprint medley team of Lindsey Papa, Marissa Airoldi, Madison Clark and Kaitlyn Bedard took first place with a time of 4:23.46, more than two seconds ahead of runnerup Hillhouse.

Boys

  • 3rd - Stephen Sutton, 1000 meters; Killian McNamee, 3200 meters
  • 5th - Killian McNamee, 1600 meters
  • 6th - Jackson Caryward, 1600 meters; Nathan Paolangeli, 3200 meters; Aaron Johnston, pole vault

  • 2nd - Tianna St. Louis, high jump

The championships were held Thursday through Saturday: Class L on Thursday, Class M on Friday and Classes LL and S on Saturday. Click the class headers for complete results.

The State Open will also take place at the Floyd Little Athletic Center on Saturday, Feb. 17.
