Tolland Homeowner Makes Quick Work Of Brush Fire

TOLLAND, CT — A quick-thinking homeowner took care of a brush fire that broke out on Gehring Road in Tolland Wednesday.

The fire broke out along the 400 block of the road shortly after 5 p.m., fire officials said.

The brush fire was in a 40-by-60-foot area. When firefighters arrived, a homeowner had most of it contained, authorities said.

A fire crew remained at the scene until it was declared safe, officials said.
