TOLLAND, CT — Tolland's new basketball courts at Heron Cove are now open, while work on a second set of courts at Crandall Park is nearing completion, according to the town manager's latest report.

The $565,000 project includes improvements at both parks.

The Heron Cove basketball courts officially opened July 1, ahead of the Independence Day holiday weekend. Town officials said only minor paint touch-ups remain before the project is fully complete.

At Crandall Park, the new basketball courts have been paved, with the surrounding fence and retaining wall also installed.

According to the report, crews are expected to paint the courts in early July. The project also includes construction of an accessible pathway connecting the courts to the parking area.

The improvements are part of the town's ongoing investment in recreational facilities. According to the town manager's report, the combined cost of the basketball court projects at Heron Cove and Crandall Park is approximately $565,000 with grants funding the work.
