The Tolland Lions Club will be conducting pediatric eye screening for Tolland preschool children ages 2 through 5 years of age, as part of its mission to preserve eyesight. The free screening is being provided at Tolland preschool programs from October 23-29, 2016.
Connecticut Lions Eye Research Foundation is lending Tolland Lions Club a special Pediavision scanner to perform the screening. This special instrument is capable of screening for astigmatism, nearsightedness, farsightedness, lazy eye, and misalignment of the eyes. The scanner, which is held three feet away from the child, resembles a camcorder with blinking lights to keep the child’s attention for the 20 seconds needed for the scan. Parents will receive a complete printout of the scanning results.
