Tolland Man Arrested on Gun, Endangerment Charges

A Tolland man is facing several gun-related charges, state police said.

TOLLAND, CT — A convicted felon from Tolland is facing a book load of charges for possessing and using a gun he was not even supposed to be near, state police said.

John Toth, 34, of 29 Hartford Turnpike, Tolland, was arrested on seven charges:

  • Unlawflul discharge of a firearm
  • Risk of injury to a child
  • Interfering
  • Breach of Peace (threatening)
  • Criminal possession of a weapon
  • First-degree reckless endangerment

He was arrested on Dec, 18 booked on a $250,000 bond, appeared in court the next day and posted a $75,000 bond after it was reduced, according to judicial system records.

State police received several 911 calls about gunshots near Hartford Turnpike on Dec 18. When they went to investigate, they found a 20-gauge shotgun, expended shells and 111 rounds of ammunition at his home, according to an arrest report.

Toth is due back in court on Jan. 17, according to court records.
