Tolland Man Facing Sexual Assault Charge

TOLLAND, CT — A 40-year-old Tolland man is due in court next week to answer a second-degree sexual assault charge.

Timothy Malone was arrested on July 5 at a Vernon hotel, state police said. He is also charged with risk of injury to a child, according to a state police report. Malone posted a $75,000 bond in the case, according to a state police report.

According to an arrest warrant, state police began investigating the case after receiving a complaint from a teenage girl. The girl later told state police that she had been touched inappropriately by Malone.

The Connecticut Department of Children and Families assisted with the investigation, state police said.
