Tolland Mourning Loss Of Fire Department's 'Original' Safety Officer
A fixture in the Tolland Fire Department for decades has died, TFD officials said.

TOLLAND, CT — A longtime fixture in the Tolland Fire Department has died.
Department officials Thursday announced the passing of Honorary Member Seale Tuttle. Tuttle joined the TFD in 1988 and served as a firefighter, EMT, and as a member of the department's board of directors.
Tuttle was instrumental in the department's Safety Committee and served as one of the original safety officers for the department. Tuttle left the Tolland Fire Department in 1995 and then rejoined in 2005.

From there, Tuttle continued his service as a Tolland Fire Police lieutenant, the department's public information officer, and he was the chairman of the board of directors before retiring in 2018.
Tuttle also shared his experience as lawyer with the department as general counsel for fire protection training.

"Seale, may you rest in peace and we thank you for your service to the Tolland community," fire officials said in a statement released Thursday.
