Tolland Native Patrick Halgren Takes Silver In Super G At Paralympic Games
A Tolland native has won a silver medal in skiing at the 2026 Paralympic Games.

CORTINA, Italy ā Tolland native and USA Ski and Snowboard Team member Patrick Halgren made up some serious time over the second half of the course Monday to capture the standing Super G skiing silver medal at the 2026 Paralympic Games.
The 33-year-old Tolland High School graduate kept a tight line at the start of his run and was seven-tenths of a second off the pace at the halfway mark.
Halgren then poured it on over the final stretch and finished with a time of 1:12.12, which earned him the silver.

It was an emotional finish for Halgren, who dedicated the performance to his late twin brother ā Lucas "Sven" Halgren ā who was killed in a motorcycle crash a decade ago.
It was Sven who encouraged Patrick to take up para skiing after Patrick had an accident in 2013 which resulted in a left leg amputation.
