Tolland Obituary: Edward Lipka, 91

Edward R. Lipka, 91, of Tolland, died Friday December 11th at his home.

Born March 30, 1924 in Scranton, PA he was the son of the late Adam and Stella (Stanczewski) Lipka. At the age of 17, Edward and his family moved to Manchester. He was a graduate of Manchester High School. After serving in the Army Air Corps during WWII he graduated from Providence College. He later attended Boston University School of Law. He worked for the State of CT as an investigator for the Welfare Department until his retirement.

Edward was an artist and especially enjoyed painting portraits and sceneries. One of his favorite pastimes was ballroom and polka dancing.

Edward is survived by a most special person in his life, Judy Bureau and enjoyed the kindness and support of her family. Edward is also survived by his children Karen and her husband Joseph Cancelliere of Cromwell, Cindy Lipka of Wethersfield, and Gwenn and her husband Steve Vecchitto of Miami, FL. He is also survived by his nephew John Gladysz and his wife Amy of Plainville and his niece Cheryl Halloran of Vero Beach, FL.

Funeral services will be private and at the convenience of the family.
