Tolland Obituary: Frances Venza, 97

Frances (Testagrossa) Venza, 97, of Tolland, and formerly of Vernon, beloved wife of the late Paul Venza, passed away on Thursday, June 9, 2016 at Woodlake At Tolland. 

Born in Brooklyn New York, the daughter of the late Frank and Giovanna (Ferrara) Testagrossa, she grew up and lived in New York for most of her life before moving to Vernon in 1983. Frances has lived in Tolland for eight years. She attended St. Joseph Church in Rockville and she loved to play bingo there. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who enjoyed spending time with her family and friends. 

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Stephanie and Joseph Marsala of Vernon; two grandchildren, Michael Marsala and his wife Karen of Davisburg, MI, and Christine Rounds of Vernon; six great grandchildren, Diana, A.J., Sophia, and Anthony Marsala, and Micaela and Gianna Rounds; a sister, Patricia Magliochetti of NY, and several nieces and nephews. She was also predeceased by her brother, William Testagrossa. 

Her family would like to thank everyone at Woodlake At Tolland for the wonderful care that they gave to Frances, especially Pam Kebart. 

Her family will receive friends for calling hours on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 3 – 5 p.m. at the Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Road (Route 83), Vernon. Family and friends may gather at the funeral home on Thursday, June 16, 2016 at 9 a.m. followed by a Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Church, 33 West Street, Rockville. Burial will follow in the Connecticut State Veterans Cemetery in Middletown.
