Tolland Obituary: Leslie Lemek, 59

Leslie (Les) Lemek, 59, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, December 28, 2015, surrounded by his loving family.

He was owner of Lemek Farm Greenhouse in Tolland, where his beloved grandchildren could always find Grampa Boone for hugs and treats. Born in Tolland to Chester and Jeanne, he lived in Tolland most of his life. He was a graduate of Tolland High School Class of 1974 and a member of the ski club. He attended Manchester Community College and worked at Pratt & Whitney. In 1976, along with his then wife Laurie Duell Lemek, he opened Lemek’s Florist & Nursery in Tolland, which he operated until 2001.

The loves of his life, Dustin and his wife Dr. Jaime (Ouellette) Lemek and his daughter Danielle (Lemek) Trubia, brought him additional joy with the birth of their children Charlotte Trubia 8, Theodore Trubia 6, and Liam Lemek, 2. Leslie is survived by his mother Jeanne (Larchevesque) Lemek and her partner Mike Moutafis, his brothers Larry Lemek, Lance Lemek and his wife Suzanne and Lloyd Lemek and his partner Mark Myruski, as well as his sisters Linda Gallagher and Lisa Lissabet. He will be missed by his loving nieces and nephew, Michelle Rozea, Melissa Jamieson, Meghan & Erin Gallagher, Karla Archambeault, Corbin & Alexis Lissabet, Hannah & Emily Lemek and his grandnieces Victoria, Jadyn and Samantha and grandnephew Landon. He is predeceased by his father Chester Lemek and his stepmother Lucille Lemek.

Les was a hard worker who loved his greenhouses, growing vegetables and flowers with the help of his children and friends. His sarcasm, wit and sense of humor will be missed by all who loved him. He is free from is earthly pain and reunited with his beloved dog Homer.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 3-6 PM on Monday, January 4th at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home, 375 Merrow Rd. (Rte. 195) in Tolland. A Memorial Service will follow at 6 PM at the Tolland Memorial Funeral Home to celebrate his life. Burial will be private.
