
Ralph T. Senk, 81, of Broad Brook, beloved husband of Helen (Matulis) Senk passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 surrounded by his loving family.
He was born July 6, 1934 in Rockville, the son of the late William and Mary (Ayers) Senk. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War where he was an electrician’s mate and proudly made 1st class in four years. He served aboard the destroyer USS Samuel B. Roberts DD823 from 1953 to 1957. He was a member of the Tin Can Sailors and was a secretary and lieutenant of the Tolland Fire Department for many years. He worked for CL&P for 35 years and retired as a test supervisor in 1992.
Besides his beloved wife, he is survived by his son, Kyle Senk and his wife Kathryn of Wethersfield; his brother, William Senk and his wife Sharon of Ellington; his grandchildren, Kieran, Conor and Cora Senk who lovingly referred to him as “Ralphie”; his brother-in-law, John Madden of VT and his sister-in-law, Frances Keenan and her husband Peter of Broad Brook along with several nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join the family from 4:00 to 7:00 PM on Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Bassinger & Dowd Funeral Home, 37 Gardner St., East Windsor, CT 06088. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 AM on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at St. Catherine’s Church, 6 Windsorville Rd. Broad Brook, CT 06016. (Please meet at church.) Burial will follow at St. Catherine’s Cemetery, Broad Brook.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to the Hospital for Special Care, c/o Dr. Felice, 2150 Corbin Ave. New Britain, CT 06053 (Make checks payable to Neuromuscular Center at HSC).
