
Raymond R. Roy, 89, of Mount Dora, FL, formerly of Tolland, husband of the late Dorothy (Brown) Roy, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 22, 2015.
He was born on November 7, 1926 in Hartford, where he lived until moving to Rockville at the age of 10. Raymond attended Rockville High School and went on to serve our country during WWII with the U.S. Navy aboard to USS Corbesier (DE-438). Upon returning from the service he went to work as a mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service and retired after many years of service.
Ray was an avid fan of NASCAR, the NY Yankees and UConn Basketball. He also enjoyed duckpin bowling, fast cars and telling a good story. Raymond would often tell of his adventure traveling across the country on his Indian motorcycle with his brother. A kind, caring and loving man he will be greatly missed.

He leaves his children, Cynthia Foster and her husband Walter of South Windsor and Terry Leighton and his wife Patricia of Parrish, FL; his brother, Robert Roy and his wife Genevieve of East Windsor; his sister, Lorraine Spoffard of Las Vegas, NV; and four grandchildren, Samantha Foster of Uncasville, Nathan Foster of South Windsor, Lori Arigno of Coventry and James Leighton of Boston. He was predeceased by his brother, Roland Roy and sister, Margaret Roy.
A Memorial Service will be held on Monday, December 28, 2015, 11 a.m., at the Samsel & Carmon Funeral Home, 419 Buckland Rd., South Windsor. Military Honors will follow. Burial will be private at the request of his family.
