
Roy A. Gebhardt, 85, of Vernon, beloved husband of the late Rosemary (Ullmar) Gebhardt, died peacefully on Friday, July 28, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born in 1932 in Rockville, son of the late Carl and Mary (Pfeifer) Gebhardt. He grew up in Rockville and attended Rockville schools. He served our country with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict.
He was married to the love of his life, Rosemary for 58 years and together they settled in Tolland and raised their family. He retired from Pratt & Whitney Aircraft after over 30 years of service in 1986.

Roy enjoyed bowling, basketball, softball and loved his P&W golf league. He spent many summer years on family camping trips while his children were growing up. He was a “Jack of All Trades” handyman who would help any neighbor, friend or family in need. He was a devoted family man and will be greatly missed by many.
He leaves his four children, Nancy Kalagher and her husband Milton Labecki of Tolland, Roy Gebhardt and his wife Debbie of Tolland; Donna Sespaniak of West Palm Beach, FL, and Patricia Sigmund and her husband Joel of Raleigh, NC; his sister, Irene Burger of South Windsor; 8 grandchildren: Katherine and Rebecca Kalagher, Lisa and Amber Gebhardt, Emily and Ellen Sespaniak, and Jeffrey and Connor Sigmund; 7 great grandchildren and his special friend, Esther Schrumpf of Windsor. He was predeceased by his siblings, Carl, Lorraine, Arthur, William, and Jean.

His family will receive friends on Wednesday, August 2, 2017, from 10-11 a.m. at the Ladd Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, 551 Talcottville Rd., Vernon; a funeral service will follow at 11 a.m. Burial with Military Honors will follow at St. Bernard Cemetery in Rockville.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to: American Lung Association.
